The main role of the Product Manager is to develop the product strategy and manage its roadmap. This will include identifying the largest market opportunities, developing new product requirements and competitive strategies, defining and prioritizing enhancements to existing product and managing the product lines for growth and profitability.

Responsibilities:

The candidate must possess a combination of both business and technical acumen. In addition, he/she must be a visionary and able to see the "big-picture" and possess the drive to turn that vision into reality. He/she must have an intimate understanding of the market and customer requirements in order to define innovative product features that drive the business forward.

The Product Manager will be responsible for:

  • Maintaining a strong working knowledge of the competitive marketplace, including relevant market share data on the competition by maintaining relationships with key Industry Analysts and Channel Partners that enables opportunity-based marketing initiatives. Be able to innovate through proper analysis of market trends and of growth of customer sophistication.
  • Engaging in personal continuous improvement and technical education with the goal of developing technical competency and marketing competencies through third party education and Public Relations competency through refresher training and industry trade events.
  • Evangelizing our core technology and the strategic positioning into different verticals for leveraged marketing and sales opportunities. These will include press initiatives, public relations, seminars and solutions briefings and high profile trade/industry events.
  • Drive channel marketing and sales strategies in this market in co-operation with key staff in the relevant departments within the organization.
  • Develop marketing plans and marketing budget allocations and give final approval for product launch planning and presentation content through liaison with our Advertising and PR Agencies. Create the forecast and take ownership in the business revenues. Liaise with Business Analysts to develop and effectively track key market share and channel business metrics.Accurately assess the strengths and weaknesses of current offerings in order to plan effective enhancements, including the development of effective competitive positioning based on knowledge of overall market and other providers. As well as analyzing the overall product cost (Cost of Goods Sold) and managing the Gross Margin for the product lines.
  • Maintaining the product descriptions and up-to-date pricing schematics. Own and deliver product marketing content and messages for all initiatives, including content for public relations, advertising, events and seminar presentations and initiatives involving strategic third parties.
  • Deliver product requirements based on market analyses and intelligence.
  • Bridge the gap between the technology and the business by translating detailed technical specifications into relevant, customer- focused value statements.
  • Effectively communicate business requirements and solutions to various audiences including potential customers, technical architects and users.
  • Direct interface to the development project management team to define and manage the product roadmap including creating and executing a product plan defining the evolution of the product
  • Provide leadership on product direction and required functionality to internal stakeholders, as well as communicate to external stakeholders.
  • Build a strong working knowledge of iseemedia products and corporate direction with the goal of being able to confidently evangelize the vision and product strategies to corporate customers at all appropriate levels.

Qualifications:

  • 4-year University degree in Engineering, Business or Computer Sciences
  • 6+ years Computer Industry experience in Marketing, Sales, Technical Sales or Systems Engineering
  • Previous Project or Product Management Experience an asset
  • Knowledge of wireless market and business models is definitely an asset
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Project)
  • Very good interpersonal/communications skills
  • Strong leadership and people skills
  • Strong business acumen and analytical skills
  • Ability to manage a heavy workload in a demanding environment
  • Well-balanced time management skills
  • University-Level English communication skills
  • Fluency in French and/or Spanish considered an asset, but not essential
  • Business-to-business marketing experience considered an asset.
