The Software Quality Assurance Specialist is a member of Quality Assurance Team. This position reports to the Team Lead of Quality Assurance. The QA Specialist is responsible for the planning, design, management, execution and reporting of tests, using appropriate testing tools and techniques, conforming to agreed standards.

Qualifications:

• Excellent communication skills and team-oriented approach
• Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology or related field
• Experience on testing Client/Server products (mobile client testing an asset)
• Experience with testing methodologies
• Experience with writing and executing testing plan
• Experience on constructing automated testing scripts
• Experience with bug tracking tools, ex. Bugzilla
• Experience with automated testing tools, ex. Cactus, JUnit, SilkTest.
• Experience with JDBC-based database products like Oracle, and mySQL.
• Demonstrated analytical, testing and administration skills
• Familiar with whole Software Development Life Cycle and QA methodologies

Responsibilities:

• Co-operate with QA Team Lead to test all software products and maintain levels of quality.
• Execute test plans, test cases and test suites manually.
• Aid in system configuration and setup to facilities automate, stress and performance testing.
• Construct automated test scripts for testing on various testing platforms: Windows, Linux, Solaris and Mac.
• Enter and track product defects.
• Investigate defects and perform root cause analysis.
• Provide time for completion of assignments.
