The Senior Product Manager (PM) will report to the VP of Marketing and will be responsible for delivering successful products to the wireless carrier market. The qualified candidate will have a strong technical background with a solid understanding of marketing and product lifecycle processes. The PM will be responsible for day-to-day, hands-on management of carrier-focused diagnostics product, interacting with all other organizations in the company, including executive management. A significant percentage of the PM’s time will be dedicated to sales support and customer evangelism.
Job Requirements:
Develop BRDs, MRDs and Product Roadmaps
- Collect requirements directly from customers, partners and other sources to identify and prioritize new features for the product.
- Prepare business requirements document (BRD), market requirements document (MRD) and product roadmap, which will drive engineering specifications and release dates.
- Manage release schedules with engineering
- Identify targets for third-party product integration, and oversee integration efforts
Go To Market
- Assist with planning and support corporate marketing with launches of new releases
- Develop sales tools for internal sales team and partners
- Ensure that the customer engineering and sales organizations are fully trained and equipped to manage technical evaluations
- Work with business partners in support of customer requirements
Communicate
- Report to the executive management team on market trends, product recommendations, project/release status, and major risks/issues with product
- Provide direction to Engineering to optimize the tradeoffs between scope, resources, and timeframes for new features and releases
- Act as the focal point for the product(s) for sales and customer engineering
Support Pre-sales Customer Engagements
- Present product capabilities, technology vision and value propositions to customers at technical and business levels
- Assist with RFPs and customer proposals
- Coordinate internal resources in engineering and professional services to define and plan solutions for customers, and move customers through the technical sales cycle
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in product management for complex software solutions.
- Extensive background (5+ years) in the wireless carrier market with knowledge of 2.5 and 3G wireless networks, content delivery and/or device management systems.
- Experience with customer care department or technologies; and/or handset diagnostics applications.
- Direct experience interfacing and supporting customers.
- Ability to translate market requirements into product features and manage product lifecycle
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and highly adept at presenting to executive and technical audiences
- Strong project management skills; ability to juggle and prioritize workload independently
- Diplomatic and diligent individual who can steer different groups toward the same goal
- Experience in large organizations as well as start-up environments is a plus
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field required, with preference to engineering or computer science.
