Experience programming the TMS320C54x DSP family in C using Code Composer Studio

Experience designing products in an ISO 13485 environment

Experience designing embedded systems for FDA-regulated medical devices

Experience in the design of bioelectric (EEG/EMG/EKG) and acoustic instrumentation

Knowledge of Bluetooth implementation and use

Good written and oral communication skills

Strong Interpersonal skills

Commitment to quality

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

Embedded Systems Engineer

Location: Toronto (GTA)

Role Summary:
Working within the framework of our clients ISO 13485 quality system, the Embedded Systems Engineer will specify, design, develop, implement and test hardware, embedded firmware and software for our client's line of hearing testing instruments.
Reporting to the Director of Engineering.

Main Accountability:

  • Develop data acquisition, digital signal processing and communication firmware for an embedded DSP

  • Write detailed hardware and software design specifications based on functional requirements

  • Design digital interface between DSP and external devices

  • Write and implement verification and validation procedures for embedded software

  • Document design activities

 

Must Have Skills/Experience:

  • BASc in Electrical Engineering or equivalent

  • Expertise in embedded microcontroller and DSP firmware design

  • Experience with digital RF communications and subsystems
